I am the founder of an after-school tutoring program for a lower income middle school. I work for the school's Extended Day Program, assisting kids where often their parents can not.

Sharp Grossmont Hospital

I have acquired roughly 375 hours volunteering at Sharp Grossmont Hospital as as pharmaceutical assistant runner and recreational therapy aid. I hold the 2015/2016 Vice President of Events position on the Volunteer Board where I assist in event planning, orientations, and other responsibilities. As aid to the recreational therapist, I directly administer and assist with therapy sessions.

Peer Tutoring

I assisted a developmentally delayed student, Ryan, in his English class. We became friends while working on reading, writing, testing, and poetry. This experience, although brief, meant a lot to me, as Ryan taught me the values of honesty and self-worth.

Adaptive Sports Summer Camp

Adaptive Sports and Recreation Association

I was a camp counselor for the ASRA's summer camp where I assisted children with disabilities perform normal summer sports and activities in order to have similar experiences as physically healthy kids their age.

Link Crew Leader (2014-present):

Link Crew works to actively integrate freshmen into the high school student body. We run multiple workshops and orientations for freshman, serve as representatives in outreach events, and actively maintain relationships with our designated group of incoming students. This past year, I was appointed to Link Crew Officer, where I serve as the advisor for a medium sized committee of Link Crew Leaders involving community outreach projects. 

Yearbook Copy Editor and Staff Member (2014-present)

I am in charge of editing and finalizing all writing entered in the book, as well as a small group of staff members and their pages. I delegate their work and teach them the processes of taking photos, creating layouts, interviewing, and writing.

Unity Days Leader (2014-2015):

Unity Days is similar in nature to Link Crew, in that it works to integrate all students into a unified student body.  

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Team Leader (2013-present):

My team, Hakuna Matatas, has been a top 100 fundraising team the past three years.
