In his community of Birmingham, Alabama, Hafiz Chandiwala belongs to the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s School of Business Council of Directors. He graduated from this school in 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant the next year. Chandiwala embarked on a career in the financial industry shortly after graduation. He started out as at Arthur Andersen where he worked for five years (rising to the position of Audit Manager) before transferring to Birmingham Fastener and Supply as its Chief Financial Officer. Thanks to his hard work ethic and strong leadership skills, Hafiz Chandiwala accepted a job offer from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc., in April 2001. He was hired as the company’s Corporate Controller and Assistant Treasurer and soon received a promotion. He currently works as the Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Assistant Secretary for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company.This organization, which is headquartered in Birmingham, is the largest privately-held bottler of Coca-Cola in the United States, with approximately 3,000 employees spread across six states in the southeastern part of the country. The company takes an active role in the community and supports many charitable organizations, a position that also carries over into Hafiz Chandiwala’s personal life. Hafiz Chandiwala’s civic contributions in Birmingham include his role as a Board Member of the Easter Seals of the Birmingham Area and the Alabama-Mississippi chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Hafiz Chandiwala was granted the 2012 Volunteer of the Year award for his efforts with the Easter Seals organization, which works to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities and special needs.
