Developed and introduced the Water Angels Pool & Water Safety Program to help prevent child drowning. Filed and registered as a 501c3 non-profit with the IRS and registered with the Dept of Agriculture in the State of Florida.
Two more recent projects include a first time event in Broward County called the Water Angels First Responder’s Appreciation Luncheon. This included forming a committee, underwriting the event with business sponsors, formatting the event itself, award recognition, securing the Honorary Chairman the Broward County Sheriff Al Lamberti (largest sheriff’s office in the country), and guest speaker the Attorney General Bill McCollum State of Florida, a pep rally that included the community and local school children including a drum line, inviting and coordinating over 30 departments and over 450 meals served to first responder’s and over 200 local residents and children at the pep rally before. The event was a total success with plans to become an annual event.
The second project is a pool and water safety video that includes 3 scenario’s, two potential drowning situations and the third instructional on the baby rollover program.
I coordinated with the film crew, directed, edited, worked on the script, the scenario’s, completion of the project with Pompano Beach High School students, PB Ocean Rescue, PB Fire Rescue and the Cooper Family. Broward Health Department is considering adopting the DVD for their use, Local Newscaster is to complete the voice over and include and introductory/closing statements.
