Hello! My name is Ashlea Holcomb and I am a senior at the University of Oregon majoring in broadcast journalism and public relations with a minor in communications. After I graduate in June 2010, I look forward to pursuing a career in the intriguing world of broadcast journalism as a reporter. I've been an intern at KATU Channel 2 News in Portland, OR, spent a summer in Africa as a news room intern at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, and am currently a marketing intern for Ridgeline Management Company and an account supervisor for the University of Oregon's student-led public relation's firm, Allen Hall Public Relations. I'm enthusiastic to explore the journalism industry and am ready to travel, meet new people and experience the world.

Interned as Account Supervisor for Allen Hall Public Relations, (AHPR). Led a
team of four to conduct research and focus groups on campus for the new social
media tool, Red Rover. Delegated responsibilities and oversaw marketing efforts
in order to meet client expectations and collaborated with entrepreneur to
establish project outline and provide product feedback. AHPR is a student-run
public relations firm at the University of Oregon that works for paying clients mostly
from the Eugene area. AHPR works at a professional caliber to create and
execute powerful campaigns.

Grrrlz Rock is a month-long celebration and tribute to the contributions women have made to the local, Eugene arts.

Traveled on a daily basis around the Ghana's capital city, Accra, and assisted reporters with interviews when possible. The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation is the public, state-owned broadcaster in Ghana and consists of 13 radio stations and one television stations, Ghana Television (GTV).
