Accomplishments & Milestones

  • Negotiated and closed more than $50 million in deals with Disney, Mattel, Walmart, Target, Epson and Twentieth Century Fox.
  • Led design and development of Barbie comprehensive merchandising programs andpermanent fixtures including graphics, signage, lights, sound and motion; and convinced Toys”R”Us to reconfigure their stores to accommodate the ambitious program. Success of this program led to high profile assignments for brands such as Lion King and with all the major movie studios.
  • Pioneered the “Store within a Store” concept for mass retailers bringing all licensees’ merchandise to one location. Initially utilized the concept for Disney’s release of The Lion King movie with merchandise sales exceeding $1.5 billion.

Recruited by company owners to investigate market potential, establish central U.S. operations and capture business from competitors. Gained rapid and deep understanding of products, industry and customers and applied that knowledge to a relationship selling and impeccable customer service model to effectively capture market share for products priced higher than competitors. Customers include businesses of all sizes, particularly large companies (URS Corp, Arcadis, Shaw Environmental, Black & Veatch, etc.). Lead a team of 3 directing sales, purchasing and inventory control. Develop strategic plans and blueprints for opening new regional offices. Prepare and manage regional budget. Launched company that grew rapidly through acquisitions and organic growth and evolved from a product design and development consultancy into a one-stop, full-service industry pioneer in Point of Purchase (POP) design and manufacturing, product prototype development, assembly, fulfillment, and distribution with 2 offices and 50 employees at peak.

Led sales, design and development of consumer-focused products including toys, movie props and POP displays for Fortune 500 customers including Mattel, Disney, Walmart, Eldon/Rubbermaid and Microtek. Collaborated with senior management to develop annual business plans that included marketing strategies, pricing, competitive analysis, financial economic models, value proposition, positioning, and budget and sales forecasts.

Introduced technology into the POP arena and merged R&D, high-end graphic design and product development for the first time in the industry. Led strategic marketing planning for the company and its clients, product marketing, marketing communications, creative services, and development of creative partnerships. Managed ongoing market research through direct customer and vendor contact, surveys, and competitive analysis.

Retained following acquisition of previous company by Pentzer Group to continue growing bottom line while increasing productivity. Reported to Executive Vice President of Pentzer Group.
