Walton County Board of Education

The Georgia Constitution requires that an elected school board oversee each school system. I am the 

state elected official for the Walton County Board of Education District 6. I was re-elected by the citizens on Nov 2012 for an additional four year term. I represent the citizenry of District 6 in Walton County Georgia on important schools issues such as:

A. Buying and selling school property

(including the power of condemnation),

B. Calling elections to authorize a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) and bond elections to authorize the issuance of bonded debt.

C. Making the policies and rules necessary to govern the school system.

D. Reorganization and consolidation of schools within our control.

E. Authority to hire employees on the recommendation of the superintendent.

Members of a local school board make decisions on almost every aspect of public school operations.

Fits and sells hearing amplification systems to individuals in busy retail establishment; Tests auditory system of hearing-impaired individuals, using MedRx A2D Audiometer, Video Otoscope, REM and Speech Mapping plus applying standardized evaluation procedures, or receives individuals referred by physician for fitting purchasing of hearing amplification systems; Interprets & evaluates auditory test results confers with hearing-impaired individuals to demonstrate, select, fit, adapt and additionally modify hearing amplification systems for individuals; Performs other duties as described under Salesperson; May replace defective parts or make repairs to hearing amplification systems returned by customers; May make impression of clients ear to facilitate shaping of hearing aid; May visit homes of confined individuals to administer auditory system tests; May assist individuals in aural rehabilitation methods, directs and conducts all marketing including outside sales events.
