D3TV Executive Board- Archivist

DePauw University

The Archivist is responsible for organizing and expanding on already existing archived material, as well as archiving more recent shows. They maintain a computer database for archive purposes.

Job tasks include
  • Watching and logging tapes
  • Reorganizing the upstairs mezzanine
  • Computerizing the archives

  • Sales Associate-greet and assist customers as they enter the store; help them find items; demonstrate products for customer sales
  • Cashier: handle the purchases of a customer's choice; thank customers and inform them of store promotions and sales
  • Stock: Made sure store was clean and orderly, assisted other associates in restocking and organizing back of store

Customer Service and Support


For this rotation we were taken to 3 different areas of customer service and support on the DePauw University Campus. They included:

Julian Tech Center- At this location, we showed how hardware and software was diagnosed and fixed for students, staff and faculty. We were also shown the tech areas that were around campus and shown the various technologies that are used on campus and basics on how to diagnose common technological problems.

Media Services-At this location we were shown how students are able to rent media equipment for class projects and the various duties of media services. They would include setting up media equipment for presentations and performances around campus, and diagnosing problems with the equipment if there is a problem for a performance or presentation.

Help Desk- This location worked closely with customer interaction. We were shown common problems that many people have with their laptop and software, and various ways to fix these problems. We were also shown how to assign jobs to the tech center and technicians

Digital Video


I learned how to operate a Panasonic DV-100A camera, and was taught various filming and shot techniques. Utilizing this knowledge, I was able to make 1 to 3 minute videos and edited my footage using the application Final Cut Pro. I also viewed various films and critiqued and took note of various filming styles.

Multimedia Design and Development


I learned how to develop a website using the program Dreamweaver, and I also learned how to add basic content and multimedia to the site. I was able to make flash, use photoshop, and add videos to the website by uploading to Youtube

Digital Video

Training in the ITAP Program gave me the basic skills in operating video equipment and editing visual recordings into video projects.


I have been involved in Technical Theater since my Sophmore year of high school. I am currently involved in Theater at DePauw University and have worked as an assistant stage manager, build crew, run crew and Production Stage Manager.

Multimedia Web Design

Training from the ITAP program gave me the basic skills in developing a web page with multimedia content.

Training from the ITAP program gave me the basic skills in recording and editing audio recordings.


Currently, I am in second semester of Elementary Japanese. I have taken the class since the beginning of my high school and I have had various instructors which gave me various ways of the learning the language. I plan to continue my education in this language in the future.


I am currently enrolled at DePauw University and I am a part of the Information Technological Associate Program on campus. This program allows me to learn and practice different aspects of technological service and handling. I am a Communications major and Japanese Minor and I intend to study abroad in Japan in the Spring Semester of 2012. I am also active in the DePauw Theatre, working on the production team- my jobs may range from assistant director to production stage manager. I am also beginning to take an active part on our local school TV station- D3TV.
