Meridiem Seeds is a newly established company that pursues comprehensive research to obtain, develop, and promote hybrid vegetable seeds and take them to market. Research allows us to meet market demands and to propose new alternatives.

• Lead and execute a Breeding Program targeted for the Mediterranean market.
• Direction and management of all components of a successful commercial tomato breeding program: creation and evaluation of breeding populations; utilization of molecular markers to incorporate genes for disease resistance and quality traits; coordinate, place and evaluate trials in major market segments; make line and hybrid advancement decisions; fulfill requirements for variety advancement through documentation of performance; completion of required breeder's seed.
• Utilization of all relevant breeding technologies with appropriate allocation of resources directed at the successful development of commercial products for key market segments.
• Through engagement and collaborative interaction with breeding technology communities, identify, research, and eventually apply those to the program that enhance breeding program effectiveness and efficiency.
• Team up with Product Development, Technology providers and M&S to assure close contact with products, markets and customers, and efficient adoption of technologies and traits.

- Research
Design, evaluate and formulate with the Breeder the short term breeding plan. Represents the Breeder in optimizing the efficiency and output of the breeding program. Designing and implementing new technologies and breeding methods in order to ensure a constant flow of commercially successful varieties.
- Breeding trials and data Management
Design and plan breeding trials in deliberation with the Breeder. Evaluate, analyze, interpret and document autonomously. Give feedback, make proposals and draw conclusions in order to optimize the efficiency and output of the breeding program.
- Basic stock seeds
Manage and execute the increase and maintenance of the stock seed in order to ensure the availability of the quantity and quality of basic stock seeds.
- Administration
Manage an accurate and detailed breeding administration within the breeding team, conform the procedures and guidelines in the breeding department, in order to enable the running of an efficient and effective breeding program.
- Management
Coordinate and communicate the daily breeding program activities to the technical assistant and the crop technicians within the breeding team and provide them with technical advice in order to meet agreed standards, time planning and budgets.

Under the direction of the Farm Manager, supervises and coordinates all of the various farming activities: pruning, irrigation management, weed control, chemical applications, disease and pest control, cultivation and harvest. Plans and directs development and production of hybrid plant varieties with high yield or disease and insect resistant characteristics. Assists in all development activities including land preparation, reservoir, irrigation system, planting, equipment selection, etc. Directs work assignments, delegating work to field personnel in an effective manner. Trains personnel in the areas of scheduling, procedures, safety and regulations. Maintains close supervision of field crews, assuring proper procedures and quality of work.
