2009 - Project Director, Iron Ore Shanghai

·Assessed the potential for developing iron ore warehouses and lump screening facilities at Chinese ports to target small steel mills.  Concluded that there was no material value for BHPB to gain by selling in small lots or by delivering a cleaner lump product and, therefore, shut down the project.

·  Managed a team of lawyers, tax advisors and engineering consultants within a budget of US$ 20 million.

2007 - 2009 Manager Business Development, Aluminium Hanoi

·Negotiated an agreement with Vietnam state mining company for bauxite concessions that was signed in the presence of the Prime Ministers of Britain and Vietnam.

·Engaged with authorities in Kuala Lumpur and Kuching to position ourselves as a credible alternative for the development of an aluminium smelter in Sarawak.

2006 - 2007 Assistant to Chief Executive Non-Ferrous/CEO Designate Melbourne

·Exposed to board meetings and participated in appraisal of business units.  Restructured Global Supply function cutting headcount by 30% and setting-up a sourcing hub in China.

·Evaluated investment proposals especially a significant M&A opportunity in the aluminium sector.

2004 - 2006 Manager Market Development, Nickel Singapore

·Launched nickel sales in India with a market share of 20%.

·Studied the nickel market focusing on Chinese demand and substitution trends to define the company’s price forecast for the commodity.  Presented to analysts and at industry conferences.

2002 - 2003 Business Development Manager Beijing

·Established TCS operations in China. Set up WFOE in Shanghai, developed software manufacturing facility in Hangzhou, recruited local staff and built government relations at the central and provincial levels.Within five months, built China facility to serve East Asian clients.

·Led a team of 40 consultants spread over China, Japan, South Korea and Singapore.

2001 - 2002 Business Development Manager

·Developed business on Wall Street with banks and exchanges by leading a six member team to illustrate the competitive advantages of an India outsourcing model.

2000 - 2001 Project Manager

San Francisco

·Delivered a web platform for GE Capital’s insurance business. Presented business plan, defined functional requirements and supervised a 10 persons development team for building the site.

1998 - 2000 Consultant New Delhi

·Participated in formulating a plan for a national identification system.Presented findings to the Indian Dy Prime Minister and Home Secretary.
