Unix and Linux Administrator, IT Specialist

Unix / IBM AIX / Solaris and Linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administrator in non down-time critical enterprise - level environment.

Management Unix and Linux systems the biggest German Bank for Central Europe, in Enterprise-level non-downtime critical environment for business purpouse.

IBM AIX UNIX SYSTEM FOR POWER* AND RISC ARCHITECTURE

(about 400 important, critical (non-downtime) , test and internal service machines)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux

(about 70 business and internal service machines)

SunOS / Solaris Unix Operating Systems

(about 50 business machines)

Since the beginning I focused on being mainly IBM AIX System Administrator but I have managed Red Hat Enterprise systems as well without Solaris Systems (only in basic scope).

I have daily cooperated with persons involved in the projects or tasks from Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, India, France and USA in English only, over phone (included phone conferences) and e-mail messages.

Business principles:

  • I have learned how to ethical tratement of business clients,

  • I have learned how to efficiently cooperating in projects.

Systems and Networks work environment:

I have greated met IT Enterprise-level Environment: VLANs, Network Zones, Storage Area Network, High Availibility Solutions, Mainframes, Distributed server rooms, SCSI, Optical Fibre Channels, Services like: Oracle, DB2, Websphere, Tivoli Monitoring, Tivoli Workload Scheduler, Tivoli Security Compliance etc.:

- Working on tickets and changes : Maximo and GCM comercial IBM ticketing systems

- 24-hours on-call systems support: at least one week per month.

- Fully system level support

- Troubleshooting solutions

Planning and make decision regarding to add server resources: local disks, SAN disks, physical memory cooperated with customer, hardware team, technican and other teams responsibly for technology.

Additional projects responsibilities:

  • Cyclades Alterpath ACS: patching and unpatching. Configuration accesses to serial console of UNIX-server, network devices and SAN switches through sls server.

  • XTB Packaging : creating ready to install packages from sources delivered by customer according to compiling specyfications.

SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS :

The first place in the National Competition for the best thesis in secondary technical schools in a year 2001/2002 in category: Chemistry and machines. I have built fully functional Manual Screen Printing Machine. 

Diploma technique perfectly defended.

Maturity Exam passed positive with additional exam from Computer science passed very good. I was the first student who chose Computer Science as a supplementary matriculation examination.

SCHOOL DESCRIPTION:

Newly created in Pila, second in Poland five-year Technical Secondary School, specialty: Offset printing technologies. Founded by "Proszynski Ska" Printing house company, currently: Winkowski S.A. located at the forefront of the best printer houses in Europe.

We were only one specializing class in printing machine techniques: Offset printer.

Our founder created future staff for himself. My classmates as I know working for Printing Companies in entire Europe.
