Trainee reporter: On-the-job training. Midweek Sport, Stafford A completely independent project in which myself and two friends produced and distributed a 24-page newspaper. Responsible for all editorial content including planning, design etc.

Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire News/sport page editor. Designing pages and sub-editing stories for a popular regional dailynewspaper(circ 60, 000). Creating eye-catching lay-outs for various sections, usually eight or nine pages every day, often more on Sundays. Currently using latest Tera desktop software, with Photoshop and have used other applications including Quark Xpress. Have taken charge of planning meetings, editorial conferences etc. Have edited several of the company' of which can be provided. Helped to supervise production, organize copyflow, meet deadlines both for the regular daily and extra weekly publications produced in-house. Played a lead role in the drive to boost the several specific training courses on web design, updating and convergence. Port Vale reporter. Covering Port Vale Football Club on a day-to-day basis including daily back page splashes, match reports and in-depth analysis on matters both on and off the field. News editor: Responsibility for all news coverage and all page design at a weekly newspaper(circ 20, 000) based in the market town of Cheadle. The role included writing all major stories, co-ordinating production, designing front-of-the-book pages for three localized editions and managing five members of staff.
