  • APLNG Functional Safety Support | Bechtel | April 2015 - July 2015
    Provided Bechtel with engineering support in producing Interlock Test packages, following up from a functional safety audit conducted earlier by GHD. Test packages were developed as part of commissioning activities of the APLNG plant, in accordance with IEC 61511. Responsibilities included writing of Interlock Test logic following critical design documentation provided by Bechtel, main point of contact with project leader at Bechtel to provide weekly status reports, site visits to Curtis Island for initial investigation of how Interlock testing was managed, and also for Functional Safety Assessment.
  •  Laidley and Forest Hill STP SCADA Upgrade | QUU | November 2014 - March 2015
    Assisted the GHD Water team in preparing a detailed cost estimate of necessary SCADA upgrade works at QUU Laidley and Forest Hill Sewage Treatment Plants. Responsibilities included liaising with the Water team and the client to determine scope of the upgrade works, writing a Scope of Work and Functional Description for the work required, engaging contractors and vendors for quotes and estimates and updating existing design documentation such as P&IDs to reflect the changes required. 
  • Moonie Control System Upgrade | Santos | July 2014 - November 2014
    Part of a small project team to design and deliver a new control system for the Moonie Oil Production Plant. The new control system, including a PLC and HMI would replace a hard-wired annunciator panel, and allow control of the manually operated shutdown valves. Responsibilities included programming of the new ABB PLC and Safety PLC, design of the HMI graphic in accordance with Santos HMI graphic standards, writing of and participating in the Factory Acceptance Test, site visit to the plant to assist in the Site Acceptance Test and general electrical installations, and updating of I&E drawings such as loop diagrams, cable block diagrams, P&IDs and single line diagrams.

Intern Engineer assisting project team delivering RTU cabinets for the QCLNG project. Responsibilities included hardware and firmware testing on RTU cabinets, testing and development of remote operator boxes for communication between the RTUs and SCADA, and investigation of power module options for the remote operator boxes.

Investigated compressive ADC sampling of sparse signals. Responsibilities included initial proof of concept and validation of the compressive sampling theory by processing audio signals, programming of FPGA board to perform the compression and also the programming of the reconstruction code in MATLAB, design of PLC board in Altium for verifying the compressive sampling theory in hardware and presentation of the research and findings at the CSIRO Big Day In event.
