As Director of Technical Delivery Coin, I was responsible for the development, implementation, and support of the Coinstar line of business software which includes Coin Kiosk and supporting backend systems that process transactions, manage coin inventory, and provide revenue accounting and reconciliation.

  • Directed a team of up to 32 developers, system analysts, and quality assurance engineers with 5 direct reports.
  • Led the team to deliver on 4 Major initiatives that support the Coinstar Kiosk including the direct deposit and withdrawal of currency from consumers Paypal accounts, consolidation of electronic gift cards to a third party aggregator (Blackhawk Network), deposit of coin into TD Bank Canada checking/saving accounts, and addition of a new flexible tiered pricing model that can be easily configured and deployed across the kiosk network.
  • Upgraded legacy development team into more modern development process, technologies, and delivery methods leveraging Agile & Test Driven Development practices.
  • Upgraded Software Release process from Annual to iterative release schedules driving teams to exercise consistent Agile practices with early value delivery.

  • Managed the definition, development, and release of 3 new products in 9 months that generated $10.2 million in 1st year licensed revenue.
  • Led proof of concept project with on staff of physicians to validate new innovative product solution for ICD-9 to ICD-10 crosswalk leveraging an Ontology based approach to code mapping.
  • Drove Business Analyst team to define the Market Opportunity for Edifecs’ ICD-10 Initiative.

  • Selected as interim Engineering Lead when CTO was let go from the company, aggressively hired both contractors and FTE's to fill out team and drive Release 1.0 to completion.
