Company Profile: Sarovar Hotels & Resorts consists of 35 properties and is the fourth largest Hotel chain in India. The Group operates in 3, 4 & 5 star properties under the brand names Park Plaza, Park Inn, Sarovar Premiere, Sarovar Portico & Hometel. Geoffrey's, their English Pub brand, operates in 10 cities in India.

Responsibilities:

  • Heading the regional sales office for Punjab, based in Chandigarh.

  • Responsible for the outbound unit wise targets for all the 35 group properties of Sarovar for the Chandigarh as well as Ludhiana regional sales offices.

  • Developing pre launch market segmentation and brand positioning strategies for the 114 keys, 5 bqt venues 3* Chandigarh property.

  • Conducting market survey and competition analysis for developing tactical as well as strategic marketing & advertising plan.

  • Designing and implementing the Marketing Plan including Advertising, Sales Promotions, Cross promotional tie-ups with other leading brands and retail stores, tie-up with leading Event Management companies, designing an F&B Events Calendar and so on.

  • Developing a client base of corporates and travel agents, to serve as the launch pad for 2 more upcoming properties in the region viz. a 133 keys 5* deluxe Chandigarh property and a 50 keys 4* Ludhiana property.

  • Recruiting, training and managing the sales team.

  • Developing the standard operating procedures for the department.

Key Achievements:

  • Promoted as Regional Sales Manager w.e.f. 01st June, 2009, within a short span of just 2 years 3 months with the company.

  • Was part of the pre-opening team during the launch of the Indore property in April 2007, as Unit Sales & Marketing Manager.

  • Launched and established the Sarovar brand as an up market brand in the region.

  • Got promoted as Senior Sales & Marketing Manager within 7 months of the tenure.

  • Achieved a MPI (Market Penetration Index) of 1.07 in FY08-09 against MPI of 0.76 in FY 07-08 despite addition of 165 keys to the city inventory.

  • Exceeded the target for F & B and banquet sales.

  • Attained high penetration in the Insurance, Banking, Airlines, Mobile service providers, Automobile & Pharmaceutical industries.

  • Identified the niche as a Business Hotel & accordingly Brand positioning as "A Business Hotel at its Best"

  • Increased the ARR by 40% in financial year 08-09 compared to the previous financial year 07-08.

  • Launched Platinum & Gold Club memberships for the Indore hotel in Dec 08 and notched up 450 members achieving revenues of Rs. 8.50 lac, providing major boost to the Hotel P&L during period of major economic slowdown.

  • Achieved revenues of Rs. 1.14 crores during FY08-09 for bookings generated for all the 35 hotels of Sarovar, as part of Regional Sales office targets.

  • Achieved revenues of Rs. 8.97 crores during FY08-09 for the Indore unit hotel.

  • Was awarded the Best Executive of the Year 2007-08.
