Responsibilities include by not limited to working with families prenatally and their children birth to three who are at-risk or are presenting with developmental delays or have been diagnosed with disabilities in various activities. These activities include developmental screenings, parenting activities and information, acting as mentor and advocate to support families and protect their rights, connecting families to services county-wide, and case management. Families are supported through a consultative and coaching philosophy by a strengths-based professional incorporating current research and evidence-based practices, knowledge of child development, knowledge of social constructs, knowledge and interest in medical, developmental, and mental health disabilities, and experience applying solution-oriented counseling techniques to each unique family and to their natural environment.
