As a public relations intern for CompSource Oklahoma, I wrote several features for the company's publications, oversaw a new employee directory project, designed collateral materials and intranet components and wrote for the company's blog. Upon graduation in May, I was offered a full-time position as a communications specialist at CompSource. 

Campus Representative for the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce

January 2011-April 2011

As a campus representative for the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce's Greater Grads program, I worked with a small team to advertise for the annual career fair. Using social media, such as twitter and facebook, as well as mass media advertisiments, grass roots campaigns and word of mouth, we met our goal of increasing the annual number of OSU students in attendance by ten percent.

Intern for St. John Medical Center-Community Relations Department

December 2010

While interning for St. John I was gained valuable experience such as writing press releases, assisting with research for upcoming social media campaigns, accompanying the director to a local news station for filming and organizing a media contact database.

Intern for the Tulsa 66ers Development League Basketball Team

November 2010-March 2011

As an intern for the 66ers, I assisted the program director with writing and editing game script and assisted the public announcer with staying on script during games. Also worked with production team to ensure a smooth flow between video, audio, live events and announcements.

As a public relations specialist, I implement internal and external campaigns. I work closely with other departments, such as human resources and underwriting, to develop strategies and collateral materials to meet their needs. I am also the editor of our monthly internal publication, which reaches 400 employees, and a contributor for our quarterly policyholder publication, which reaches 26,000 customers. My strong copy writing and copy editing skills are essential in this position as I consistently draft employee, legislative and policyholder communications.
