About Greg Snyder Lakota West

An accomplished musician and educator, Greg Snyder currently serves as band director for three high school concert bands and the Lakota West Marching Firebirds in Ohio. He also assistant-directs two freshman bands and, as music supervisor, oversees eight other teachers. Greg Snyder has directed the instrumental music program for Lakota Local Schools for more than 25 years.

In 2014, Bowling Green State University named Snyder a distinguished alumnus in honor of his many accomplishments. He also received an official commendation from the Ohio Senate and House of Representatives in 2014. Over the years, the top three concert bands, under his direction, have earned straight superior ratings in Class AA and A at Ohio Music Education Association State Contest. In addition to three invitations to the Midwest Clinic (a first for Ohio), his student musicians have earned high honors and distinctions at regional and national events such as the Virginia Dixie Classic and the Boston Brass National Concert Band Competition.
