Greg Gillespie is an experienced web designer located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, in Narrabeen. He has beed developing websites in the area of site design, web application development, search engine optimisation and rich media content for the past 10 years.
A background in advertising and marketing have given Greg excellent exposure and experience in the field of direct response online interactions that place him at the forefront of the ever expanding world of ecommerce and the opportunities this brings to the new world of the Internet.
Working freelance for my own company since leaving Caltex in February of 2011. Doing web design projects and search engine optimisation for some local Australian companies and others based in the USA.
Created and launched the WonDeals.com.au - local deals website for users on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
My role with Caltex was based around a large photo retouching project for the Mobil service station tender Australia wide takeover and reworking the the corporate intranet. The contract work involved working with Microsoft Sharepoint for teams and departments who accessed the corporate intranet.
I created and launched the HappyCustomers.com.au website in 2006. The site caters to small business owners and the general public. Users can write reviews and build communities with like minded individuals to share in the knowledge and collective buying power. Business owners are able to gather happy customer testimonials via reviews and ratings on the site and at the same time offer the community members discounts on their services.
This site has recently been revamped and is now Facebook, Twitter and Youtube enabled.
My role as webmaster was commenced with direct challenge of redeveloping the very tied and bloated Warringah Council website. I managed a team of internal and external designers and developers to take the 10 thousand static page website and relaunch a dynamic, database driven website and content management system.
We had a team of 40 content authors all using the system designed, and implemented under a $110k budget in 18 months of development time.
Working as a freelance web specialist during this period I managed a range of client projects that involved the development of commerce shopping carts for a tech supplier, online travel agency ordering for the trade, the development and deployment of a digital asset management system Logosafe.com.au for the ABC and the Bananas in Pyjamas.
