Malcovery Security
Malcovery Security protects networks and brands against email-based attacks. It is the leading provider of actionable cyber security intelligence and forensic analysis about email-based threats (phishing, spam and malware). I cofounded Malcovery, successfully licensing it from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2012, and then led the technology's market commercialization and early, rapid growth, gaining customers such as VISA, Citi, IBM, Morgan Stanley, Dollar General, Assurant, LinkedIn, Facebook, eBay and many others, achieving sales to 12 customers in less than one year, including 10 in the Fortune 500. I hired and managed the founding team, and the leadership of the company. In addition, I led the creation of the market presence and positioning of the company and the products,resulting in the company being recognized as a 'Red Herring Top 100 Startups in North America' in 2014 and being nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2014). As CEO I raised over $5M in two rounds (convertible note and Series A) in one year.
