Grant Engrav graduated from Lake Owego High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon, in 2006. He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut, where received his bachelor's degree in political science. A committed and enthusiastic student, Grant Engrav maintained a 3.8 GPA and was named to the Dean's List every semester of college. He helped to finance his education by working part time during the summer months. During his time at the University of Hartford, Grant Engrav was involved in several different extracurricular activities. He served as the Student Body President at the University of Hartford, a position that required strong organizational skills and leadership abilities. As student body president, he was responsible for working with other student government leaders as well as faculty and staff members in order to advance environmental awareness initiatives and other issues of interest to the student population. Mr. Engrav also served as a United Nations youth mentor and a member of the Oregon Olympic Development Program. An avid athlete, Grant Engrav was team captain of the Lake Oswego varsity soccer team and a member of the University of Hartford men’s soccer team. He also helped to referee for the Lake Oswego soccer club from 2000 to 2006. Mr. Engrav's athletic career was ended in 2008 by a serious hip fracture, but he was able to carry the dedication and commitment to teamwork he developed as a soccer player over to other areas of his life. Currently, Grant Engrav volunteers his time to a local food bank helping to make sure low-income residents have access to nutritious meals.
