At the time 3M appoints you a manager, you are required to go through their course on team leading and problem solving. The course was a series of classes taken over a period of weeks at headquarters in St. Paul, Mn.
All executive management at 3M were required to take their Corporate Management Development Program. This was an intense course for all upper level and executive managers conducted at 3M headquarters in St. Paul, Mn. Our Executive Team Leader was Desi Desimoni who later became the CEO of 3M.
As part of the management training program for 3M, persons slated for supervisory positions were required to take a course in Supervisory Development. This course was delivered at headquarters in St. Paul, Mn.
Through many moves, my actual undergraduate diploma from BYU was lost. However, enclosed is the commencement program with my name graduating in the Department of Biology. Degree was in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry.
TQM Certificate of Achievement. This was awarded following rigorous courses in quality assurance processes and procedures. It was take prior to Six Sigma having been developed but followed very closely the same concepts taught in that program.
The Great Performers Award was given to two individuals in Control Data's (approximately 12,000 employees) Medlab Division (consisting of approximately 550 employees). As a recipient, I had the opportunity to go with my wife to Jamaica along with 50 other Corporate winners and their spouses. The award I won was due to technical performance enhancements in their software customer support arena.
Liberty Homes hired me under the GBS umbrella to create strategic plans, contingency plans, and change policies.
Created and implemented a program called Liberty for Life which documented and structured the processes utilized in sales, production and purchasing.
Expanded the IT group to automate many of the processes used in the company.
Served for 10 years on the executive committee planning the strategic direction of HIS.
Responsible for world wide customer service on all the HIS products.
Participated on executive acquisition team which acquired several companies.
Responsible for all Department of Defense contracts for development and implementation of government products.
National course focused on all aspects of management.
Classes were required for anyone in management positions at 3M.
This training was the intense company executive training required by all those who would enter the Executive Management Team.
This was an intense Corporate on site course which focused on strategic planning and execution.
