MATx Ph.D. ePortfolio

Gloria D. Brogdon MATx ePortfolio

This is a brief collection of work I have created and produced. It includes creative and commercial projects. The Video work I create ranges from promos, full length and short documentaries. Recently I have been exploring the use of words as fluid images, using text as the visual. As a silversmith, I create sterling silver jewelery. Each handmade piece is a one-of-a-kind. My techniques are casting and construction, assembly and lost wax method. The style is Native American.

Summary

I researched at Virginia Commonwealth University. My research and projects are concentrated in the area of usages and advantages of educational technology in the classroom.  My content focus is based on media, the arts and societies' consumption of the visual and auditory. In my e-Portfolio,  located at  http://brogdonmatxvideoblog.blogspot.com/ are some examples of my research, video/audio creations and curriculum I have created.

Based on research, today's student is grounded in visual/auditory communications. Their usage of technology has changed the way they learn and socialize. Thus I find it important to present curriculum that allows them to be  scholarly as well as creative. I  can bring a collaborative, innovative, and creative digital perspective to your  educational environment.  A perspective that allows students to develop their personal style of communication, whether it is digital or analogue.
