I’m a software engineer and database architect with expertise in Perl, Java, C, as well as database architecture development, LDAP/Single Sign On protocols, Business Analytics, Web development, SQL Server, and Oracle. I’ve worked for small to large size companies in the areas of Defense, Biotechnology, Insurance, and Collision Repair. My unique strengths are my background in science, mathematics, operating systems, and web based programming, as well as my ability to work with very little supervision. I’m especially passionate about designing new systems in cooperation with subject matter experts.

Tasked to design and implement the data architecture for the company’s new online automobile casualty applications. Took the lead role in designing a new database architecture that was the central data repository for Mitchell’s new suite of online insurance applications. Designed and implemented an LDAP Directory Server in Active Directory for online user authentication and authorization. Developed and brought to production an Oracle to Active Directory synchronization architecture. Designed and developed a Business Analytics Reporting system using SQL Server Reporting Services 2005, Excel, and Perl.Translated VBA for Excel code into Perl for use with manipulating Excel.  Designed, programmed and maintained a secure Internet Web site for Mitchell customers to display and retrieve Business Analytics Scorecards. Created an Excel to Hyperion query system for use in creating Business Analytics Powerpoint documents for Mitchell customers. Responsible for Korn Shell programming for an Oracle 10g database environment.



Cotelligent, Inc
Recruited to serve as lead database development expert and architect working with Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, LDAP, and Java technologies in development environment. Managed multiple projects simultaneously often involving divergent technologies and strategies. Developed data integration for diverse systems. Applied breadth of knowledge and ability to all data-related development tasks in support of 12 software developers engaged in distributed web applications development. Impacts made: Architected proprietary data synchronization for integration of PDA data with corporate backend systems across multiple versions of Palm OS (3.5, 4.0). Developed XML Document Repository system for Sales Force Automation application that provided secure access via Digital Signature technology, and native XML database storage and access.


Integrated Ventures
Tasked by Luth Research OnLine to design and develop Online Product Survey System using Perl, ASP on Microsoft IIS, and Oracle. Implemented business logic using Oracle 8.1.6 and PL/SQL. Conducted project management, systems modeling, design/architecture, and web development. Performed architecture and systems design/development across all stages of software life cycle development. Impacts made: Shouldered duties of acting CTO during executive search period for replacement; managed personnel and worked with executive management on strategic technology issues


Digital Gene Technology
Supported genetic research scientists with data modeling, supportive application development testing and Oracle Database Administration according to ever-changing specifications demanded by evolving research techniques. Fulfilled multiple roles including data analyst, DBA, lead software engineer and instructor. Led seminars in Perl programming, software engineering, Oracle analysis/design, and Java development. Impacts made: Implemented first ever Recovery Manager utilization for backup of database; implemented necessary cron job and monitored directory. Teamed with seven engineers in design/development of data translator in Java for USMC Warfighting Lab simulation application—Urban Warrior. Designed integration system to bring together individual simulations/scenarios on different simulators into central data analysis control system. Worked with plethora of government agencies and entities including Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Stanford Research Institute, and Marine Warfighting College. Impact made: Developed Perl program to rapidly generate Java code for design of simulated battlefield, saving weeks of man hours of coding and contributing significantly to forward project progress.
