PORTFOLIO ITEMS - PRINTED MATERIALS

The Traveler Newsletter

The Traveler is a newsletter that is sent out to our former staff members every year. I am the writer, designer and editor of this newsletter. Through our email marketing system, I reach out to each former staff members, collect updates on staff members' lives, and use those in the newsletter. I also repackage articles that were published in the Cross & Crescent magazine in this newsletter.

Lambda Chi Alpha Style Guide

Keeping a consistent and clear brand identity is crucial for any organization. At Lambda Chi Alpha I release an updated style guide that presents clear guidelines on my organization's official colors, fonts, and logos. Additionally, the style guide includes a glossary with proper language to use. You can access the Style Guide by clicking on the following link: https://www.lambdachi.org/files/StyleGuide2014.pdf

Conference Event Guide

Lambda Chi Alpha's annual conference is the perfect platform to educate the undergraduates and alumni in attendance about our organization's brand and details about Lambda Chi Alpha. Much of this was accomplished through our event guide that each attendee received. You can access the Event Guide by clicking on the following link: http://issuu.com/lambdachialpha/docs/eventguidefb3/1

Officer Operations Guide

One of the major projects I embarked on at Lambda Chi Alpha was the redesign of our officer manuals. Originally officers used a manual and a tactical operations guide. Through the development of an efficient, interactive document I was able to combine the two documents into one Operations Guide.

Briefings Newsletter

One of my main responsibilities for serving as the Director of Marketing for the Fraternity Communications Association is coordinating the design, printing and distribution of our quarterly newsletter, Briefings. I also provide written content for the newsletter that is distributed to our membership

PORTFOLIO ITEMS - WRITTEN ITEMS

Oscar Buzz

One of my favorite stories I wrote for Lambda Chi's publication, the Cross & Crescent, was about the Hollywood visual effects industry and Bill Westenhofer, who is a Lambda Chi brother that led the visual effects team to earn an Oscar for their work on Life of Pi.

Joseph Chavez Obituary

Joseph Chavez was a colleague at Lambda Chi Alpha and a dear friend of mine. His sudden death was a shock to the entire Lambda Chi Alpha staff. I felt privileged to write about such an outstanding gentleman. The obituary earned Lambda Chi Alpha the first place award of "Writing - Human Interest Article" at the Fraternity Communications Association annual awards banquet.

From Combat to College: Lambda Chi Alpha Needs to Recruit Veterans

Last year, I wrote a story a persuasive story about the need for fraternities to recruit student veterans. This is a topic that I am passionate about as I've previously written about student veterans. In the article I spoke with a handful of student veterans who were also members of Lambda Chi Alpha and I researched the surge of veterans who were returning from combat

PORTFOLIO ITEMS - SOCIAL MEDIA

#LCA105

To be a part of an organization that has a 105 year tradition is truly an honor. I created a series of engagement pieces to be shared over our social media outlets on Nov. 2nd, Lambda Chi Alpha's Founder's Day. I chose to use inspiring quotes from Lambda Chi's greatest leaders that displayed the miracle of our fraternity.

No Hazing Campaign

Lambda Chi Alpha partners with the National Hazing Prevention Week organization to promote the idea of eradicating hazing from all our chapters. We take a strong no-hazing stance and we market it out to the masses.

National Ritual Celebration Week

NRCW is a marketing campaign that several Greek-letter organizations take part in. The goal is to have our membership remember and act with the values that were bestowed upon them. Throughout the week, we post items pertaining to our core values and rituals. We also encourage members to wear their badges and share photos.

#LCAHoops

Our communications department tries to create engaging campaigns that target specific audiences. The NCAA basketball tournament offers a great platform that our membership - specifically our undergraduates are interested. We use #LCAHoops and have our CEO create a bracket and challenge our undergraduates. We also give away prizes for winning brackets.

Graduating Senior Campaign

Lambda Chi Alpha celebrates the accomplishment of our undergraduates graduating from their respective institutions. We also want young alumni to stay connected with our organization. We collected more than 80 photos through our Graduating Seniors Campaign and reached high levels of engagement.
