In 2013 Vonda started contributing her skills on behalf of safety and equity in health care following the death of her husband and 10th Dot’s founder, Yogiraj Charles Bates. Advocating for every person in the medical system, Vonda brings empathy, strategic skills, and collaboration expertise to improve communication and safety in every care setting.

 

She is the CEO of 10th Dot®, a boutique consulting firm which coaches, trains, and facilitates individuals, teams and organizations to identify hidden potential, tap the benefits of differentiation, and bring ideas to life.

Vonda worked with organizations to form productive teams, create effective communications, consider the environmental and social impact of operations, and improve overall performance including financial and stakeholder satisfaction. Services included: strategic management, training, facilitation, leadership development, team building, public speaking, grass roots management, staff development, enviro/socio education, and alliance building. In addition to offering external services, Vonda oversaw V Creative business operations, marketing, contract management, alliance formation, strategic planning, and implementation.

Northland Bioneers Conference

As a consultant, Vonda guided several Twin Cities citizens in creating a vision, mission, and strategic plan for The Northland Bioneers Conference and Northland Sustainable Solutions. She oversaw operations for 2006 and 2007 Northland Bioneers Conferences and designed the event which highlighted: zero waste strategies, participant interactivity, 80+ sustainability workshops, strategic partner forums with representation from the cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, green-for-all exhibits, community dialogues on environmental/ social/economic matters, and entertainment. Vonda led a $75,000 + fundraising campaign and supervised alliance formation with 160+ organizations. Under Vonda's direction, 130+ volunteers were recruited, trained, and operational.

Target Corporation

As Executive Producer, Vonda set the vision for and managed the internal television networks for Target Corporation and Marshall Fields. Her leadership guided staff to achieve and maintain significantly increased levels of excellence. She restructured the financial and administrative systems to maximize cost-center management while modeling and integrating a collaborative approach to account services. This  considerably improved alliances among network and internal Target Corp. clients, and increased utilization of the organization's internal resource. Vonda also directed contractors and staff to produce 120+ internal television and training videos per year. She directly managed a budget of $1M.

Vonda produced corporate communications utilizing video, satellite television, live meetings, and print. She managed creative development and production for dozens of clients while managing V Creative's business operations. By integrating the 4 R's (Rethink, Reduce, Re-use, Recycle) Vonda influenced new standards in production purchasing while overseeing client budgets exceeding $2.5M.

Vonda was instrumental in defining the live television visual merchandising field. She set trends that became industry standards. At age 19, she hired, trained and managed a 30+ person staff for 24hr operation, oversaw a total purchasing budget of $1.25M, produced live specialty segments, and stimulated an environment of innovation and operational excellence in a high-stress division. Under her leadership, the division reduced mis-airs by 36% through training and team systems development.
