I am a web developer in San Francisco, CA I specialize in XHTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL. I am dedicated to creating high quality designs and back-end programming for modern websites and web applications. In the mid-90s, I started designing websites with basic HTML in text documents. The sites were typical of the time-period, but working on them gave me an idea of what design and basic web programming were like. I've come a long way since and developed a much more modern understanding of what these skills are capable of. I graduated from UMass Lowell with an engineering degree in 2006. After working in the field for a number of years, I re-developed my interest in web development. In college I had taken C++ and MATLAB courses for my engineering degree, and so I took up PHP. Web based art quickly inspired me and I familiarized myself with it rapidly. I could tell this was the career for me. Before taking on my own projects, I collaborated with a friend, whose career is in graphic design, on various sites. Within a few months my grasp on xHTML, XML, PHP, mySQL CSS and Javascript was strong. In early 2009, I took an internship at Stormcode, a web programming company in Boston and solidified my PHP and CSS work. Through this experience at the internship and working with other coders I also strengthened my knowledge of OOP, functions/classes, managing large scale databases, modern web standards, communication with clients and translations of their ideas to code, Wordpress, SEO and more. In the summer of 2009 I moved to San Francisco and continue to free-lance design I am currently looking for a full-time position where I can use my programming skills in a creative way and expand my experience base. I continue to be anxious to learn more languages and to optimize my knowledge base to do even greater work.
