Responsible for managing background investigation paperwork for the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) using the e-QIP portal. Work closely with the Office of Human Resources to update background investigations with all current and future federal employees to be compliant with the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12). Work with a team of government contractors to review, proofread, and advise corrections for background investigation paperwork prior to submitting it to the Office of Personnel Management. Manage a workload of 80-100 background investigations per month. Maintain the database, ESEC, by inputting data and tracking current employee’s and contractor’s background investigations. Provide training to new interns and new hires for the Security Services Center. Provide input on New Employee Orientation presentations conducted by the Security Specialist. Analyze different ways to make processes more efficient. Provide input on the work flow and efficiency for our current projects. Provide customer service to the Security Services Center by providing temporary badges, answering telephone call and email inquiries, and assist visitors, public searchers, and newly hired employees and contractors.
