  • Amplified the Company's Market Strength and Presence. Developed and implemented innovative communications strategies to position Hitachi as an industry leader. Most recently launched breakthrough brand campaign known as "Hitachi | True Stories" at, gaining award-winning recognition, resulting in 20% increase in unaided awareness
  • Implemented Best Practices Corporate Brand Management. Created, built and managed the corporate brand, providing insight, vision, and creativity in developing brand value, consistent messaging, and brand momentum inside and outside the organization. Pioneered and championed the company's Internet presence through creation and expansion of a global corporate website.
  • Played a Leadership Role in the Evolution of the Communications Function for Hitachi. Developed and implemented an integrated corporate communications strategy to ensure consistency in messaging across a diverse internal infrastructure comprised of more than 900 different Hitachi entities, as well as externally with industry analyst firms and press / media firms.
  • Expanded Outreach & Communications. Led development and execution of a strategic communications plan to drive public understanding and awareness of the company, serving as "the face" of the organization. Represented Hitachi before a wide variety of audiences in settings such as conferences and trade shows, media interviews, and board meetings.

Served as Vice President, Corporate Communications and corporate officer for Loral Corporation (previously one of the nation's largest U.S. defense contractors).

Developed and managed a robust investor relations program to help drive the desired valuation of the company, effectively analyzing and disseminating the company story, enhancing and maintaining the credibility of top management through various means of disclosure, continued development of the shareholder base, and improved analyst coverage.
  • Implemented Proactive Corporate Communications for Multiple Business Deals. Oversaw communications for the acquisition of IBM Federal Systems Division, the IPO of Loral's Globalstar Satellite Telecommunications venture, and the resolution of the troubled FAA automation program. Demonstrated the ability to work effectively with media and a variety of business partners.


ASARCO Incorporated

Leadership role, serving as head of corporate and financial communications and industry relations for ASARCO Incorporated, a global integrated producer of non-ferrous metals.

  • Enhanced Public Awareness & Corporate Profile. Championed effective communications strategies in support of corporate goals and the promotion of the company's achievements. Executed an extensive environmental communications program covering Super Fund sites in Washington State, Montana, Colorado, Texas, New Jersey and Arizona; as a result of this effort on behalf of the North America metal producers, named "PR All Star" by Inside PR, a leading industry publication.


Gould Inc.

Worldwide responsibility for corporate relations, advertising and public relations functions, including planning and execution of strategic, tactical and crisis communications. Manage budget of $2 million and staff of nine direct reports and 25 indirect reports. Supervise activities of agencies and coordinate division marketing communications programs.

  • Designed and executed communications strategies related to three corporate redirections in six years, including eventual company sale to Nippon Mining Company of Japan. Maintained investor community support, employee understanding and objective media reporting throughout the period.
  • Significantly increased media and coverage of Gould as leading edge producer of semiconductors, computers and factory automation equipment through corporate-wide communications program.
  • Coordinated Gould response to U.S. Government following company-wide suspension from new government business in 1987. Suspension narrowed to division in question within one month. Also coordinated overall communications and media relations efforts during $400 hammer incident and DOD time-card investigation.
