With over 20 years of teaching, management, and human resources experience, George Kuhn possesses in-depth knowledge of customer service, personnel management, and employee training. As a student at California Polytechnic State University, George Kuhn majored in Social Sciences with a particular emphasis on personnel management. While attending the university George Kuhn served as a Personnel Intern with the City of Lompoc, California. In this position, George Kuhn utilized his classroom training to conduct surveys and create manuals and brochures, effectively increasing the volunteer rate by 400%. George Kuhn graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1989 and stayed in San Luis Obispo as a Human Resources assistant and Recruiter with Hind. Here, George Kuhn performed the necessary procedures for screening and hiring new employees while interacting with current employees in numerous ways. After moving to Northern California, George Kuhn spent a year working as a supervisor for Long’s Drugs before being hired as a claims adjuster with the California State Automobile Association (CSAA). George Kuhn investigated claims in various ways to determine the extent of the policy’s coverage and relayed his findings to the claimants. During this time, George Kuhn volunteered at California State University, Sacramento as a college recruiter. In addition to soliciting applicants from high schools in the area, George Kuhn reached out to local business to promote the school’s affirmative action programs and match potential scholarship candidates. George Kuhn worked in management from 1992 to 1993 before assuming a position as an educator with the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District. Serving the District for 13 years, George Kuhn implemented innovative programs in the classroom and drafted a grant resulting in eight classroom computers.
