Plant Shift Maintenance Supervisor

Supervise daily workload for mechanical and I&E technicians on shifts in a $1.2 billion power plant. Provide guidance in regards to safe and efficient work practices. Prepare hold card packages for craftsmen to ensure their safety with the use of P&ID and established procedures. Evaluate and upgrade work practices through the development of JSA's, in order to improve overall work practices.

Maintenance Mechanic

Direct, lead, and perform maintenance alternating as a two-person lead team in a $1.2 billion power plant, including mills, fluid drives, pumps, bearings, chillers, and pipefitting.

  • Spearhead projects designed restore operations, increase operational efficiencies, and improve safety while interfacing with plant management to determine best practices.
  • Played an integral role in the rebuild of Weston 3 coal pulverizer, first in company history, resulting in successful rebuild, with no injuries and completed ahead of schedule.

As Millwright, directed and facilitated structural and in-house maintenance within 4 manufacturing plants for large international paper manufacturer. Maintenance projects include steam turbines, concrete work, laser alignment, as well as repair machinery, pumps, drives.

  • Executed detailed repairs in specialized areas, including overhead cranes and robotics.
  • As Mill Productivity Program (MPP) member, cost-reducing method without labor reductions, evaluated efficiencies in throughput, manpower, and costs.
  • Implemented chemical flush line to reclaim BMA, resulting in impressive ROI.
  • Implemented method of system to trend the action level on the high end and lowering the action level, resulting in cost savings of $500,000+ due to increased run time, chemical savings, sheet profile quality, and reduced labor costs.

As Safety & Security Supervisor, coordinated second and third shift maintenance requests with available manpower, organizing additional help as necessary.

  • Maintained security for Wisconsin Rapids based offices and mill divisions.
  • Generated quality audits, daily reports, and records of all maintenance requests, injuries, and policy violations.
