Don’t stop me now because I’m having such a good time being the very best that I can be. When I first arrived into this country at the age of eight; not many things about my future were certain. I suffered from anxiety of not knowing what my future can hold. By the time I got to high school I decided that I would be the only one in control of my future. I have spent my last four years acquiring the tools necessary for what I thought would bring me success after high school. I am part of the Mu Alpha Theta math club not because I enjoy math, but because I enjoyed the challenge of higher math such as Calculus. I also joined the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society because I enjoyed being a role model to my fellow peers, and knowledge of technology is another tool that is very important to possess in this day and age. I started taking AP classes as soon as I possibly could in my sophomore year. Ever since then I have taken seven AP classes. I have been in Pre-Calculus, Calculus AB/BC for most of my high school life. My junior year I took Probability and Statistics as a math. I have played varsity soccer for all four of my high school years. I believe in having a balance life. At times it was very challenging balancing the demand of my AP classes and social/sport life. However, I have found it to be a lot easier if you apply the knowledge you gain from one part of your life to another. I have kept a 4.0 GPA constant this way. Sometimes it’s easy socially to become separate from my peers when they’re not facing the same challenges that I face, but I have tried to be a very personable person to everyone. I think that is very key in living a balanced life above all. I fiercely love my friends. They are the ones that keep motivated to take on more challenges even if in some cases it would cut my time that I would have to spend with them. I believe in equal respect, so I have encouraged them to do the same thing. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to have a successful high school career. However I am extremely excited for the next part of my life. As one of my friends once said about me in his speech, “Alex is the type of person who doesn’t polish his medals from the past, but makes room for the trophies of the future.” And as the great Freddie Mercury once said, “There's no stopping me. I’m burning through the sky yeah! Two-hundred degrees. That’s why they call me Mister Fahrenheit. I’m traveling at the speed of light!”
