With more than a decade of finance experience, Gaylon Laboa enjoys a reputation as a diligent, compassionate real estate investor. As the President of Crimson Financial Group, a company he founded in 2007, Mr. Laboa negotiates short sales between a homeowner and lender, identifies foreclosure properties for rehabilitation and resale, and purchases such real estate investments as first-lien mortgages and tax liens.Striving to diversify the firm’s business, Gaylon Laboa stays active in his professional community. In addition to maintaining membership in the National Association of REALTORS and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers, Mr. Laboa participates in the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association and IRAC of Atlanta. He also supports St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the Scholarship of America Fund, and the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund. His commitment to the work of U.S. military personnel prompted him to donate to the USO and the Armed Services YMCA of the USA.After working as an international banker and consultant in the United Arab Emirates for several years, Gaylon Laboa returned to the United States. He recognized the potential problems that could reverse the housing boom. In response to the sweeping changes he anticipated in the real estate market, Mr. Laboa developed the original business model for Crimson Financial. From investing in properties he purchased through short sales, he expanded into buying foreclosed units. In the short sale process, he works with the homeowner and the lender to determine a price that aligns with market values for the neighborhood. After the homeowner no longer has his or her mortgage, Gaylon Laboa refurbishes the property as necessary to attract new buyers.Noting the depressed values that ensue from abandoned houses, Gaylon Laboa decided to invest in properties that had gone through the foreclosure process. The time and attention he spends on each property ensures houses do not simply deteriorate or fall prey to vandals.Gaylon Laboa received his Bachelor of Science in Management from Troy State University, where he pledged the national fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha. He later completed his Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama. A fan of the Crimson Tide, Gaylon Laboa belongs to the Red Elephant Club, an organization that fosters team spirit and interaction between graduates of the University of Alabama.
