As Director of TRIO - Talent Search, I am responsible for a TRIO grant that is awarded through the Federal Government to ACU. I am responsible for budgeting, staff management, and program operations. My role as director is multi-faceted and I must manage people, time and information on a daily basis.

  • Staff Supervision
  • Interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations;
  • Analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and making recommendations in support of goals;

  • Planning and implementing program components;
  • Compiling and analyzing data;
  • Preparing, managing, and administering the grant

As a Talent Search College Advisor, I offered in-school academic counseling to students, as well as informational workshops designed to equip students with the skills and information needed to prepare for, apply to, and succeed in college.  Workshops focus on topics such as: study skills and test taking strategies, goal setting and achievement, the college admissions process, as well as financial literacy, student financial aid and scholarship assistance.
