I enjoy teaching and helping people.  I am a quick study and I can teach other people to do most of the things I know how to do.

Trackers Earth

Lead Outdoor Educator

While a Lead Instructor at Trackers I have been responsible for leading activities for up to twelve campers.  Each week at we take a new group of campers out to parks around Portland and do different things.  Activities include carving, fire making, shelter building, and lessons about how to connect with the world around us.

Trainer BFI7

As a Trainer at BFI7 I am both a process trainer and a PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) trainer.  I am responsible for seeing that training is being completed.  To that end, I teach and supervise Ambassadors to facilitate process training.  Additionally, I teach associates to drive our various PIT.  BFI7 is a high PIT site, meaning that all of our associates are trained to drive at least one PIT.
Before becoming a trainer, I was a Fulfillment Associate at BFI7 and BFI4.  At BFI7 I worked in Inbound as a Problem Solver and Receiver.  At BFI4 I worked in Outbound and packed customer shipments.

Twinlow Camp and Retreat Center

Program Director

During my time as the Program Director at Twinlow, I was responsible for developing and implementing our summer program.  Our program included Bible study, Challenge Course, and trying to share new experiences with our campers.  I worked with the other year round staff to recruit, hire, and train twenty camp counselors every summer.  Waterfront Director was also a part of my job, meaning I trained and certified our lifeguards as well as managing our lakefront and equipment.

Nature's Classroom

Nature's Classroom is an outdoor education company in New England.  Local schools send groups of students out to spend a week exploring the woods with us.  As a teacher, I was responsible for groups of 12 students.  I would lead them on hikes and teach classes.  The classes were an hour to an hour and a half and covered a with variety of topics including everything from water rockets to duct tape.  I also led team building activities and other experiential education activities.

There is more to the story...

I have been teaching and working at camp since I graduated from high school.  Camp has always been a skill that is made up of a million smaller skills to me, and I love it.
