A fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery since 1986, Dr. Gary Hitzig has served in multiple executive functions for the American Hair Loss Council. From 1996 to 1997, Dr. Gary Hitzig took part on both the Ethics and Professional Standards Committee and Regional Ambassador Committee for the American Hair Loss Council Board of Directors and was later elected to a three-year term as National Medical Director of the organization as its Medical Advisor. For many years, Dr. Gary Hitzig has held full, active memberships in the Inter-American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the New York State Society of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and the American Medical Association. In addition, Dr. Gary Hitzig maintains memberships with the Association for Behavior Analysis and the New York Academy of Sciences. Commanding more than 30 years of experience in hair restoration surgery, Dr. Gary Hitzig has lent his expertise as an instructor to dermatology residents at New York Hospital, was co-chair of the 1996 Hair Symposium in New York, and has written articles for publication in such peer-reviewed journals as Dermatologic Surgery and the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery. The author of Help and Hope for Hair Loss, Dr. Gary Hitzig pioneered and patented the Hitzig Linear Punch device. A resident of Long Island, Dr. Gary Hitzig personally consults with patients at both New York Hair Loss office locations. All treating physicians are Board Certified in Plastic, Reconstructive, and/or Facial Plastic Surgery.
