Gary Chesley has nearly 40 years of experience working as a teacher, administrator, and private educational consultant in a number of communities in Missouri, Colorado, and Connecticut.In his position as the Superintendent of Bethel Public Schools in Bethel, Connecticut, Gary Chesley oversaw all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Bethel Public Schools, including management of the district’s $37 million budget as well as the development and implementation of the district’s longer-term strategies and initiatives. During his tenure with Bethel Public Schools, Gary Chesley proved especially proficient with the supervision of long-term initiatives, as evidenced by his skillful handling of such intricate undertakings as district-wide facility renovation projects, complex budget and funding community referendums, and a comprehensive overhaul of the district’s K-12 curriculum.Gary Chesley was educated at Southeast Missouri State University, where he graduated magna cum laude and was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies in 1973. In 1974, he earned a Master of Science degree in Secondary School Administration from the University of Missouri, where he was an honor student. He also attained his Doctor of Education in School Administration in 1981 from Saint Louis University, where he was an honor student.In addition to his current work with Bethel Public Schools, Gary Chesley is active in several community and public service organizations, such as the Boy Scouts of America and Animal Rescue. He is also a supporter of such charities as the American Cancer Society, the American Autism Association, the Bethel Education Foundation, and Labs4rescue.
