Systems Programmer, Principal, Tucson, AZ ▪ Responsible for the development, administration, maintenance, and enhancement of central computing infrastructure services. ▪ Drove the design, development, and implementation of key enterprise computing initiatives: Replaced an expensive, proprietary, closed-source messaging environment with an open-source alternative— while providing enhanced levels of service and scalability. Established an authentication infrastructure(UA NetID/WebAuth), based on open standards(LDAP/HTTP); the use of which has become pervasive among University applications. Lead efforts to architect high-availability and disaster recovery components into mission-critical applications and infrastructure services, such as messaging and UA NetID. ▪ Collaborated with internal project groups, and external departments, regarding various computing efforts. Provided input and expertise in areas ranging from technology assessment and selection, to designing interfaces for existing systems and services. Participated in, and provided assessments of, strategic campus IT projects. Promoted technology standards and best practices.
