Gareth Lukey has more than 16 years of experience as an environmental health and safety professional in industries ranging from product warehousing to real estate development. Having worked in both the United Kingdom and the United States, Gareth Lukey brings considerable experience to his current role as the North American Environmental Health and Safety Manager for a recycling company based in Florida.
Gareth Lukey is responsible for his company’s on-site environmental health and safety management as well as assuring standards are maintained at all eight North American locations. In this capacity, Mr. Lukey wrote and introduced a health and safety program for the company and served as the corporate lead while successfully earning quality, environmental health, and safety certifications. Additionally, Gareth Lukey implemented preventative maintenance programs in all of the company’s facilities to reduce accidents and developed a training program for employees. He also serves as a corporate speaker representing his firm’s environmental health and safety leadership in the industry.
Throughout his career in Florida, Gareth Lukey has also worked for Waterfall Development & Real Estate in Dade City; Rampart Properties, Inc., in St. Petersburg; and BVG Incorporated in Tampa, among others.
Gareth Lukey earned a Master’s degree in Public Health, specializing in Occupational Safety, from the University of South Florida. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom. Mr. Lukey has achieved numerous industry certifications and holds membership with The American Society of Safety Engineers, the American Public Health Association, and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. Additionally, he was previously a student member of the Sunshine Education and Research Center at the University of South Florida, an organization dedicated to training professionals and increasing safety in the workplace.
