Mr. Galen Maddy is the founder of The Veteran’s Friend, a community service organization created to provide free information and education to veterans and their families about the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Aid and Attendance Benefit. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Galen Maddy has spent several years assisting wartime veterans in securing this benefit, which has been largely overlooked and underused by the veterans community. The Aid and Attendance Benefit, also known as the Veterans Non-Service Connected Disability Pension, has been available since 1951, but as Galen Maddy points out, the United States Government has rarely promoted it or its use. Galen Maddy has also authored a book entitled In Your Service: The Veteran’s Friend, available since 2007 from Brann Publishing, which makes the benefit readily accessible to the thousands of wartime veterans and their families who qualify for it. Specifically, the VA Benefit provides for assistance with the costs of needs-assisted living, enhanced independent living, home health care, and nursing homes. As a volunteer group, The Veteran’s Friend works together with attorneys and other certified professionals, Galen Maddy helps thousands receive the lifetime benefits they deserve. Galen Maddy possesses four decades of financial experience and currently owns the Galen Maddy Group in Carlsbad, California.
