CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation

I volunteer to advise the alliance and its members on best ways to engage with young people in an inclusive way. I helped Yole!Africa organize the Great Lakes intergenerational dialogue as a local event for the International Civil Society Week 2017 with participants from DRC, Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda. I also helped Goma bloggers  organize #TogetherWeSpeak in 2017 campaign with representatives of marginalized communities like albinos, people living with disability, those living with HIV, etc.

I produce radio, web and videos stories for both local and international media including (but not limited to) the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle, BBC's Focus on Africa, Radio France International's English Service, RNW Media, etc. 

As a consultant, I produced web stories, photo stories and a video on Burundian refugees in Lusenda camp for Oxfam (October 2015); I write web stories with photos for One.Org campaigns; I have done several researches and investigations including some on armed groups in eastern DRC, illegal wildlife trade, Media landscape, Internet Freedom in Africa DRC section, etc. 

I trained journalists in Mali, Bamako, on producing content for young people and in DRC on storytelling with the support of dutch NGO Free Press Unlimited

I produced a weekly and bi-weekly situation reports compiling data from North Kivu province, South Kivu province, Ituri and Haut-Uele regions. I organized media campaign sensitizing Rwandan refugees for biometric registration. I organized the celebration of 2015 World Refugee Day in Goma as well as managed relations with media.

I prepared and implemented a communication plan for the cultural center and the annual Congo International Film Festival. I recruited and managed a small team of 4 other volunteers for the department during the 10 days of the festival. I moderated and interpreted conferences, meetings and debates after film screenings.

I produced weekly radio shows sensitizing parents on children's right. I also took part in field visits to sensitize local authorities and parents on children's rights. All this was done with the support of UNICEF/ Bunia, Ituri to the Club d'Ecoute pour enfants in Bunia.
