Safe Schools Social Service Facilitator

Palm Beach County School District

Successfully created and implemented a district wide online teacher training course in tobacco prevention.  Directly trained hundreds of teachers and supported them in implementing prevention curriculum in their schools.  According to an independent evaluator, all schools in which teachers completed my tobacco prevention training course, saw a reduction in tobacco-related incidents. Additional duties include:  Interactive classroom student/faculty presentations, maintenance/updating of the department’s website, online enrollment forms, technical support, community partnership coordination, etc.

Part of the leadership team that envisioned and planted this new church.Duties included:teaching, weddings, counseling, public speaking, supervisor of the Children’s Ministry Director and Nursery Coordinator, leading international mission teams, etc. Directly oversaw administration (i.e. payroll, budget, fundraising, taxes, bookkeeping, etc.) of this growing church.Licensed official worker with the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

The dream of the Mos’Art Theatre began in the summer of 2007. We asked: “Can we do something that would exist to serve and connect with people locally and globally? Could we bring our community together through the creative expression of the arts?”

Assisted in the daily operations of Palm Beach County School Board’s Alternative to Suspension programs.  Served approximately 1,000 individuals annually.Helping empower youth to avoid and stop using alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

Holy Spirit Lutheran Church

Direct leadership of all programs related to middle school and high school age youth.  Youth nights, Sunday School, after school programming, community service activities, recreational activities, fundraising etc.Oversight of the His Kids Ministry (elementary age children).  Provided counseling to youth and their families.Coordinated the church’s first international mission team.

School Based Substance Abuse Professional

Drug Abuse Treatment Association

Implemented the first School-Based Substance Abuse Treatment Program in Palm Beach County School District.  Provided substance abuse prevention, intervention and treatment for the students.  Also, provided individual, family and group counseling (i.e. Anger Management, Life Skills etc.) to help youth overcome the difficulties related to the abuse of substances and other debilitating behaviors.  Supported the establishment, training and implementation of such programs in three local high schools.  Led the establishment of Columbia University’s CASASTART prevention program (the first in the state of Florida).
