Served as a Project Team Leader for assigned HVAC Engineering Material Cost Improvement Process (MCIP) initiatives. Maintained and understood project savings and timing on a real time basis utilizing the Enterprise Cost Improvement Process. Communicated project status with MCIP Team and others (including the HVAC Value Stream) as appropriate utilizing MS Project software. Led and participated in cost reduction workshops and brainstorming sessions to generate new material cost reduction ideas. Developed, maintained, distributed and communicated all Project/Program timing to functional groups and operations through change management process (CMII). Escalated and coordinated resolutions of project issues (GEMBA).

·Worked on several material cost reduction projects in HVAC through completion in 0-3 phase. Saved $500,000 in converting expensive material to a cheaper material on HVAC valve doors.

·Coordinated cost saving initiatives with functional groups, manufacturing and Product development teams.

·Used MS Project as a tool to successfully achieve projects on time by coordinating activities with multi disciplines.

Material & Design Change Authority Coordinator, PC&L

Assisted production planning with starting dates and proper scheduling of MDCA/New Programs. Interfaced with Purchasing on new parts, coordinated with Production Control & Logistics (PC&L) in bringing common parts to the cell using Kanbans (visual workplace). Sent out Plan for Every Part (PFEP) information to PC&L in house coordinators before production. Communicated production break point to customer Assembly plant coordinators. Assisted purchasing on parts scheduling and bank build-ups for tool changes. Attended Change Board Meetings to understand supplier material and design changes to coordinate with PC&L and engineering/purchasing.

Successfully launched three new launches for General Motors Corporation such as Cobalt, Malibu and Escalade.

·Worked closely with Manufacturing engineers and Production Managers to schedule new product launch and assisted in troubleshooting molding processes and production.

·Worked on the Injection molding Process Controllers to statistically control the process to 6 Sigma. Used MATTEC production monitoring system to SPC injection molding process.

·Wrote and maintained documentation relating to part numbers (injection molded parts): Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process Control Plan (PCP), Pack Diagrams (visual aids, material handler visual, water, electricity).

Materials & Process Engineer

Developed and validated non-metallic materials (plastics, elastomers and adhesives) and metals for current and new material applications. Supported quality assurance and reliability engineering with service failures and field surveys. Used techniques (Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy and FTIR) to examine microstructures of metals/non-metals and correlate microstructure with the mechanical performance of materials. Supported product engineering in materials and processes: selection, specification, drawing approval, product evaluation and analysis of components. Supported manufacturing engineering in the development of new processes.

·Developed high performance materials such as Polyimides, Polyamide-imides, and PEEK for application in Air conditioning compressors.

·I was responsible for coordinating product development of injection molded plastic /Elastomer products from concept to manufacturing.Coordinated prototype development and testing, design modifications and materials selection.

·Developed material and process for cure-in-place silicone gaskets for Radiator application.
