I currently hold the role of Technical Manager for Sheldon's Bakery in Manchester, reporting directly to the Directors of the business with the sole responsibility for Technical, Food Safety including HACCP and the Quality Management System.
During my time at Sheldon's I have successfully obtained BRC Grade A Accreditation each year consecutively, obtained and maintained Tesco PIU Green Accreditation, obtained and maintained Supplier Approval Status with major clients including Warburtons, Allied Bakeries, Co-Op and Lidl.
My role also includes a very detailed role in the development of products both internally and for third party customers. I have generated business with all the major multiples and working alongside the Sales Account Manager have increased the business with Aldi to over double the original level through successful tendering processes and product development.
I have successfully created and implemented a robust Allergen System, Quality Management System, multiple HACCP Systems for different bakeries and processes, and created a Risk Assessment based Hygiene Systems from scratch.
I am also responsible for completing Product Specifications, in both an internal format and on the many retailer systems including Co-Op Core, Tesco Technical Library, Aldi's SVA System and Sainsbury's Inspire program. I am also familiar with the SEDEX System.
I am responsible for all audits that the business undertakes, from unannounced supplier audits to BRC Accreditation and Supplier Approval. I am trained in Supplier Auditing and have visited suppliers on several occasions to complete audits. I manage the Supplier Approval system from start to finish.
I also work closely with the Directors in many other aspects of the business and played a key role in the rebranding of the Sheldon's range in 2014, the implementation of new machinery in 2012, 2013 and 2014 including completing Pre-Delivery Inspections of machinery.
