Summary

In the last five years, I have designed and implemented grassroots organizing campaigns, resolved labor disputes through collective action, and built effective and democratic member-based organizations at the worksite.My objective is to develop my already formidable skills as an organizer to influence public policy in ways that reflect the values of a more just, humane, and ethical society. I am interested in conservation issues, labor advocacy, and progressive politics.

  • Bargained the transition of work resulting from new hospital projects in Napa and Solano counties.
  • Represented Kaiser Permanente employees in grievance matters from Step I through binding arbitration.
  • Increased member donations to UHW's political fund by 25%.
  • Recruited and trained strong member leaders to move the program of the Union.
  • Worked collaboratively with Kaiser Permanente administration on joint initiatives designed to enhance the potential of Labor-Management Partnership.

  • Organized RN members and community allies in the 2005 contract campaign at Community Health Partners hospital in Lorain, Ohio.
  • Recruited top prospects to work for SEIU as 1199's representative to the AFL-CIO Organizing Institute.
  • Participated in comprehensive campaign to organize the largest hospital system in Ohio, Catholic Healthcare Partners.
  • Trained new staff in NLRB election campaigns.
