PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
As Manager of Robotic Mining Consortium and Project Fondef D04i1084 on unmanned aerial systems, I was able to secure the strategic alliance between our organization and Nostromo Defensa S.A. of Cordova, Argentina in order to successfully complete our project on Autonomous Aerial Vehicles for Geophysical and Natural Resources Exploration, which culminated with the creation of Aerobotics, a UAV technology and mobile robots engineering company based in Santiago, Chile.
As a consulting engineer I evaluated and contributed to various industrial projects implementation, leveraging technology and process innovation to improve operations and productivity. As plant manager for Grupo IMSA Chile-Instapanel I led efforts to implement ISO 9001:1994, ISO 9001:2000 and 14001 norms and improve a variety of industrial processes and tasks including the handling and disposal of liquid and solid waste, interfacing regularly with the government authorities in charge of regulating these activities.
As a civil-industrial engineer, I successfully managed industrial plants’ expansions and construction of new facilities, as well as being responsible for new technologies implementation, setting up new product lines and machinery, and managing all contract work dealing with electrical, water, and air lines installation of new and expanding production lines and storage facilities. Well experienced with engineering projects focusing on customer-oriented key process assessment & redesign.
As a professional industrial engineer, I have had ample experience in process control systems, working on correcting and improving a large variety of industrial processes and equipment, such as plastic molding, heat-transfer processes, boilers, gas turbines, painting lines, burners, steel galvanizing plants, gypsum manufacturing processes and others.
As an experienced process & product engineer, I was able to reduce costs and arrive at optimal solutions using powerful analytical tools such as Mathematical Modeling, Neural Networks, Operations Research and Process Modeling & Simulation to reach major engineering improvements as well as modeling management systems and processes for productivity and safety enhancement, process flow optimization and throughput maximizing under particular work constraints and specifications.
Certified ISO Auditor for both ISO 9001: 2000 and ISO 14001 norms. Process modeling and simulation using CASE tools; VISUAL SLAM AWESIM, MATLAB, SPICE, ARIS tools, Sparks and other software tools for process design/diagnostics; also experienced with Design of Experiments, Taguchi approach. Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Designer, and product life cycle methods and associated documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills− multilingual (English, Spanish, Italian and some Portuguese).
