Work experience

Lan Gaming Technician

Miami Dade College

I love games. I have been a gamer ever since I was a kid. Gaming has been a passion and a learning experience. I have studied some gaming theory and trained myself a little in Cisco Systems and A+ PC Support. I first started lan gaming for PC games independently with my class mates and friends in high school and carried on into college. I then integrated console LAN gaming while keeping events private for testing purposes. I have worked as Student Government Association's  (SGA of MDC) LAN gaming technician for about a year and a half. I then found a gaming club, left unnamed, which lasted for a year. It was here that we started tournaments and events within the college.

Mathematics, Science, English, and Programming Tutor

Miami Dade College

I have tutored students and work alongside some professors in subjects of mathematics, chemistry, english, and programming. I try to target the fundamental understanding of others in need and build upon from there. I try to challenge them by confusing their train of thought and encourage them to solve problems in front of others. I have knowledge of about 10 years in algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus I, II, and III, differential equations, discrete mathematics, linear algebra, basic chemistry, basic C++, essay writing, and film, poetry, short-story, and novel analysis (English composition).

I have the ability to speak fluently in English, Hindi, and Gujarati. I can read and write fluently in English.
Concept Art
I have been sculpting my artistry in visual and fine arts since I was little. I started off with creating cartoons; drawing my own characters and creating a short background history for each. I did this for about a year. A good 7 years later, I expanded my palette with still life and surrealism creations. I've created about 20 pieces using different styles and materials such as light and darkness controlling and colorization and using pastels, oil paint, water colors, block printing, and computer effects.
C++ Programming
I understand and am able to utilize the basic concepts of C++ from input and output files to single and multi-dimensional arrays, and I am have learned object oriented C++ programming. Also, I can work with vectors, structures, and classes to create user versus cpu mini games.

My name is Pranav Patel. I am 20 years old and have a great commitment to and passion for the gaming industry. When I was little I used to be the only kid on the block without a gaming console(I know this for a fact because each one would mock me about it all the time). I was lucky if one of them invited me to play a game with them and when they did that's when my studying began. I would always go on the internet and search every game, look up there stories, and imitate the characters onto my drawing paper. Although, growing up I could not afford gaming material I always had a pencil, paper, and a skill for drawing scenery, stories I wrote, and fictional and non-fictional characters. Everything I learn presently about the gaming industry is not only through research but also through practice by creating art and playing video games.

I am applying for the position of a concept artist, game tester, mobile game designer. I have had experience in drawing traditionally and creating characters for about 3 years.

I have a profound interest in art and computers. Besides these two subjects being a professional aspect for me they are more so a passion. In art, I like to create realistic and non-realistic figures, creatures, scenes and also make story boards. Working with programming has been quite fun and building circuits has been something special. I enjoy reading (books by Dan Brown like "Angels and Demons", the Harry Potter series, Roald Dahl novels, mathematics and computer books - Dummies, and science history are more of my type), the culinary arts, exercising, gaming (a definite), playing basketball; billiards pool; ping pong; soccer and hockey, watching films (such are The Dark Knight, UP, Wall-e, Slumdog Millionaire, American History X, Good Will Hunting, Scent of a Woman, and many more) and watching anime (like Akira, Full Metal Alchemist, Gundam Wing, and others).

I have a true craving for wanting to sky dive, kite surfing, and many adventurous outdoor activities. One of my greatest interests is to keep searching for ways to make me creative and unique- I'll never let go of that.
