  • Senior Cost Engineer on a CAD$211 million EPCM project to control the project cost and budget effectively, experienced working in a project site for more than 4100 hours – established excellent rapport with client (Vale Canada Limited), Engineers, Contractors, Suppliers, Project Area Managers, and Project Managers.
  • Designed and implemented an Integrated Change Control process on a US$630 million EPCM project to control the project scope, time and budget effectively - established excellent rapport with client, Project Area Managers, and Project Managers.
  • Seconded to serve as the Global Functional Support Manager for the cost controls system - directly supported 70+ EPCM capital projects ($37 billion), providing leadership to 15+ international cross-functional team members working in consultancy with the stakeholders on the implementation, operation and support of the system

  • Designed and implemented a 1.2 megawatt EBOP Control System interconnecting devices with different communication protocols including MODBUS RTU RS485 and Ethernet TCP/IP - utilized PLC, Digital Power Controller Board, Maple systems HMI, and Digi-One IAP Port converter
  • Led the design and production of Frequency Converters for a major US Military contract - designed single line drawings, power schematics and enclosure layouts and coordinated all testing

  • Directed a US$22 million project to acquire, customize, and install active and passive detection systems across 6 Navy vessels - project involved design and installation of complex telecom and RF technologies, 6 communications and database interfaces, and was delivered within budget and ahead of schedule
  • Directed the execution of a US$1.7 million project to install and integrate Electronic Test Banks for the Navy's maintenance facility - further developed continuous maintenance protocols that increased operative readiness by 80%
  • Designed and led the project that increased safety, operability, and functionality of on-board SSM systems by 60%
  • Managed all Maintenance Centers in an advanced technology environment with high levels of national security. Overseeing planning, cost and risk activities. Led a team of 30 specialized technicians to ensure all the systems were operational and ready to respond at any time.
  • Conducted a Project for Improved maintenance process in the High Tech facilities. It was developed in the laboratory for supporting test stations for the analysis of integrated circuits, optimizing the process and generating greater efficiency in both the maintenance process and the administration of the operation.

Electronic Engineering Designer                                                                                              1988 - 1998

Designed and/or managed design of engineering solutions for the maintenance and operations of self-protection systems on board the vessel. Range of assignments includes:

  • Led the design and implementation of a 150+-node Network Backbone LAN Ethernet, configuring VLAN network and WAN access for Internet service and Intranet connection
  • Developed the solution to calculate potential failure of Fire Control systems , improving operability and functionality by 80%
  • Successfully re-engineered the Anechoic Chambers for testing in the radar section - within months, re-activated a system that had been inoperable for 7 years
  • Projected, Designed and implemented a LAN Ethernet network system (40 nodes) of the Maintenance Facility, creating a new system of control of maintenance administration, increasing the efficiency in 70%. Internet service and Intranet connection. The design it was taken as example to other facilities of the institution
  • Implemented and designed of the system of LAN Ethernet network (15 nodes) of the Frigate Misilistic. Innovated system of data, increasing the efficiency for maintenance and administrative task.
  • Organized and supervised the installation and the maintenance of navigational equipment, radar, sonar, fiber optics, machinery control system, gyrocompasses, plotting system, phones, TV's, alarms system and switches. Demonstrated for the efficiency of the equipment post installation.
