• Serves as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emergent BioSolutions Inc. (EBS), manufacturer of the only FDA-licensed anthrax   vaccine, with a track record of 9 years of growing sales (near $300 million) and sustained profitability (over $50 million) in the highly   competitive biotech industry.• Founded EBS (formerly BioPort) in 1998 and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since its inception until March 2012.• Secured six procurement contracts with the US Government (DHHS) valued at over $2.5 billion for the delivery of licensed anthrax vaccine to the Strategic National Stockpile and secured eight development contracts valued at over $370 million.• Strengthened manufacturing as a core competency by completing construction of a 55,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art vaccine production facility in   Lansing, Michigan and a 56,000 sq. ft. multi-product facility in Baltimore, Maryland.• Acquired Trubion, a pharmaceutical company in the US to diversify the therapeutics product pipeline and leverage a proven platform technology   in the high growth areas of oncology and autoimmunity.
