Summary

I started my career in 1978 in the then South African National Defence Force. I joined the force as an Infantry Permanent Force Member and was promoted through the course of my career to Company Commander and eventually to Officer Instructor at the Advance Training Wing of the School of Infantry.

In 1997 I decided to start my own business in Oudtshoorn outside the military.

Objective

Considering my training and previous experience I would prefer to be employed in the Security Business or similar environment. I trust that my experience will be a fair assesment tool for prospective employers in order to secure an interview for possible positions. I am willing to travel - both locally and abroad.

Own business in January 1997, I started with furniture making business and are currently still operational. Due to Labour challenges and a weaker market, I am forced to close down business.

Company Commander/Officer Instructor

South African National Defence Force

South African National Defence Force –in June 1978 I joined the Army as an Infantry Permanent Force member.I started my career at the School of Infantry, where I did the Junior Leader’s course.

I qualified myself as a Warrant Officer First Class, where after I did the Officer’s Formative Course.I ended my career as a Major.

During my military career I held several positions, such as:

Platoon Sergeant – I was responsible for training and leading of an Infantry Platoon in preparation for and during war.

Company Quarter Master – I was responsible for all the logistical aspects of both training as well as an operational company.

Company Sergeant Major – I was responsible for all aspects of training and logistics of an Infantry Company during training and war.

Battalion Training Warrant Officer – I was responsible for all training aspects with regards to planning, supervision and evaluation of an Infantry Battalion.

Battalion Training Staff Officer – I was responsible for all aspects regarding budgeting, planning, supervision and evaluation of both operational and training companies of an Infantry Battalion.

Company Commander – I was responsible for the training and operational deployment (both rural and urban deployments) of an Infantry Company.

Officer Instructor – I was utilised as an instructor at the Advance Training Wing at the School of Infantry during my last two years of military service.

During my military career I took part in several South West African/Angola deployments.
