About Frederick Tanne

A New York attorney, Frederick “Fred” Tanne holds a bachelor of science in communication studies from Northwestern University. He received a juris doctor with distinction from Emory University School of Law and later passed the bar to practice law in New York. Frederick Tanne dedicated his early career to Shearman & Sterling, a company in which he honed expertise in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions as an associate.

Subsequently, he made a lateral move joining Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He became a junior partner in less than a year and was named senior partner in 1995. He has since transitioned into an of counsel role, in which he provides guidance on corporate law.
